TRANSPARENCY AND US.
wE'VE NOTHING TO HIDE.
Our approach to the way we make clothes is anything but conventional. We’re 100% committed to sharing our process and revealing every stage of our supply chain..
We’re 100% committed to being transparent.
Taking a more conscious approach to the way clothes are made.
Revealing every stage of our supply chain.
Being the very best we can be.
Here’s how we live and create at Zola Amour. We’ve nothing to hide.
our clothes never go out of fashion.
Forget about chasing the trends, we’re all about the sweet spot where timeless meets contemporary – the minimalist capsule wardrobe.
It’s time to slow down, enjoy the process, think sustainable and say no to mass consumption and excess waste. We don’t follow the latest styles but this doesn’t mean our clothes aren’t stylish. It means that we don’t believe in creating pieces that are made redundant at the end of every season, or are so poorly made that they fall apart within no time – ultimately ending up in already overflowing landfills.
Let’s say no to fast, cheap and disposable. Our collection is here to stay. We’re sure you agree: it’s time for fashion to have a conscience.
it's on our shoUlders.
Sustainable isn’t just a word we throw around. Anyone can say they’re sustainable, ethical, responsible and organic. We’re not here to piggyback off current trends. We take these words seriously.
It’s on us to keep the environment as our first priority, so you’re able to buy well and wear sustainable clothes that last.
Our entire collection is made using only natural, organic certified fabrics and textiles we can give a second life. From the recycled polyester zips on our trousers to the shell buttons used to fasten our shirts, every item is considered by ensuring all the materials used are fully biodegradable or recyclable. We even use GOTS organic cotton threads to stitch.
We believe by taking these materials from the earth, we should be able to return them to their natural state. We’re able to do this by only buying fabrics that have been rigorously certified by organisations like the Global Organic Textile Standard, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and Fairtrade.
What exactly does this mean?
Global Organic Textile Standard.
GOTS, Global Organic Textile Standard, is the certification that requires at least 90% of natural fibres be certified organic. This means no chemicals found to harm humans or the environment can be used at any stage of the textile production process.LEARN MORE
OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100.
All our bamboo products are OEKO-TEX certified, including the blended fabrics used for our GOTS organic cotton / OEKO-TEX bamboo t-shirts. OEKO-TEX certified means fabrics have been tested and are free from more than a hundred chemicals known to be harmful to human health.LEARN MORE
fROM OUR HANDS TO YOURS.
Our entire collection is designed in-house and ethically handmade in the United Kingdom. There is no outsourcing or mass production here and we intend to keep it this way.
It’s our responsibility to ensure every single person who’s involved in the creation of our garments is treated fairly. Ethical practice is in our DNA, and we truly do care about every stage of our production and supply chain.
From the plant to our own studio, we know exactly what’s going on. That’s how we’re able to show you as the buyer that there are real human hands and people behind the clothes you wear.
We only work with suppliers who embody the same values we live by. We won’t settle for anything less. Ever.
We sure are trying our darnedest, but like most things in life, we have our flaws. While we’re doing everything we can in our power to be the best we can be, there are a few obstacles we have yet to defeat (but, oh boy, are we persisting).
Because of our size, there are limitations. Our elastic is not yet sustainably sourced and our care and size labels are not biodegradable. We’re not able to buy as sustainably as we’d like to and we’re not yet at the stage where we’re able to develop our own resources. However, we are working on this.
There isn’t an option to turn back for us. Like we say, we stick to our word and as soon as we’ve grown to a size where we’re able to, we will either source or develop our own.
If you’re reading this and can help, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Every word of advice and feedback never goes unheard and is greatly appreciated. Plus, it’s better to join forces and change the world together, right?
